Les Sarments
Fruity, supple, all about pleasure
Tasting notes
Les Sarments is the Sunday lunch wine that works just as well on a Tuesday evening. It comes from the young vines at the foot of the hillsides, planted some fifteen years ago on lighter, sandier soils that give round, fruit-filled grapes.
Picked at full ripeness, with a short maceration of around ten days to keep the fruit fresh. No oak here — the wine is aged in concrete vats for just a few months, only as long as it takes to round out without picking up woody aromas. We keep what matters: the fruit, the pleasure, the ease of drinking.
Black cherry, blackberry, a hint of sweet spice and garrigue. The palate is round, the tannins supple, the finish on fresh fruit. An unfussy wine, to serve lightly chilled in summer and barely at room temperature in winter.
Food pairing: perfect with summer grills, a board of charcuterie, a fresh goat's cheese or a simple tomato and mozzarella in the garden. The everyday wine, the one you open without a second thought.
